Once you have seen DJ Ironing Board it is an experience you won't forget, whether it's at the biggest festivals in the UK, corporate events, private parties or kitchen discos, spinning the best soul, funk, punk, reggae, disco or house music, via two mini turntables atop a customised ironing board.

He was at the start of the great British youth movements of punk and dance music. Those remain his greatest musical passions, but he entertains from a diverse collection of 5000+ 7" vinyl records covering the aforementioned sub-culture genres and everything in between.

Aged 5, "In The Summertime" by Mongo Jerry was his first purchase from Woolworths Irvine, Scotland.  The started a love affair with 45rpm singles that lasts to this day. Always on the lookout for new and exciting music. Punk rock had a huge impact aged 12. Never one too stand still for too long, a move to London in the mid-eighties saw him quickly immerse himself in party and club culture Londons Westend. He quickly became a well-know face as the scene grew rapidly around the country, co-promoting legendary underground club nights "The Betty Ford Clinic" at the Gardening Club and "The Job Club" at Gossips in Soho in the early nineties where the Dust Brothers (later to find global stardom as The Chemical Brothers) were the residents. Others that came to play at these clubs include UK house DJ's Justin Robertson, Darren Emerson, Carl Cox and Andrew Weatherall amongst others. He also retained his deep connections with the music world as he established a successful joinery and shopfitting business whose projects include the design and build of DJ booths (including The Social Bar London) recording studios, working for Oasis, Primal Scream, The Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode and many DJ bars and restaurants throughout London.

He is also co-founder of the casual dining brand "Piebury Corner" with his wife Nicky. This is where DJ Ironingboard was created, playing along his dub loving DJ partner Uncle Al to entertain music loving football fans on match days. Further gigs followed at private parties, corporate events and guerrilla pop-ups at the likes of Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Bestival and Festival No 6.

His equipment is easily portable and quick to set up. He has two mini turntables (affectionately known as The Wheels of Plastic), a mixer and a flexible wireless amplified 1K speaker system that can run for 8 hours without the need for mains power, This means it can be set up anywhere, indoors or outdoors and the sound is fine tuned to suit the specific gig environment, be it The Bollywood Bowl Tent at Bestival, a house party or the Holloway Boulevard on Arsenal match days. The music is always tailored to suit the audiences demographic and taste and is played at appropriate levels whether for a dance floor or as background music.

DJ Ironing Board is one of the most entertaining DJ's in the country. He lets the quality of the tunes do the talking, with the novelty of the ironing board putting a smile on even the most sceptical and cynical of faces.
